*POSTPONED* All About Roger Williams: A Presentation by John McNiff In-Person

*POSTPONED* This event has been postponed due to the government shutdown. We will be rescheduling this event for a later date after the shutdown ends. Stay tuned!

Roger Williams National Memorial Ranger John McNiff will present a 45-minute talk about Roger Williams’ struggle for religious liberty, not tolerance, and how this perspective formed a new basis for government. McNiff will explain how these experiences in New England still affect us to this day. As Roger said in 1644, the foundation of civil power lies in the people. No registration required. Free and open to all.

Event attendees and all library visitors are encouraged to stop in and see the library’s newest addition: a 7ft Roger Williams statue. On January 8th, the statue with information banners arrived at the library as part of a traveling exhibition on loan from the State Archives. The statue will be on loan until February 18th.
