Tails & Tales Community Storytelling Series: Loren Spears from Tomaquag Museum In-Person

Lorén Spears, Narragansett, Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, kicks off our Summer Community Storytelling Series with traditional stories and music that weave together the history and culture of the Indigenous peoples of New England.

The Tomaquag Museum is Rhode Island's only Indigenous museum dedicated to sharing Indigenous culture, arts, and history from a first-person perspective. The Tomaquag Museum educates the public and promotes thoughtful dialogue regarding indigenous history, culture, arts, Mother Earth, and connections to native issues of today. Lorén Spears, Narragansett, Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, is an author and traditional artist who shares her cultural knowledge and works tirelessly to educate the public on Native history, culture, the environment, and the arts.

This series is made possible through funding provided by the Friends of Tiverton Libraries and by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and private funders.
