Poetry Workshop with David Dragone In-Person
This workshop is for beginning and intermediate poets. In four weekly in-person poetry workshops, you’ll learn how to:
- Increase your chances of getting published
- Prepare a superior poetry submission
- Develop your poetry’s power with various poetic techniques
- Use the internet to help your poetry
- Avoid common poetic mistakes
- Move an audience with your poem
- Develop different forms of poetry
Between sessions, each participant will receive an individual e-mail with suggestions on developing their poem drafts.
Following the four-week session, the Tiverton Library and Crosswinds Poetry Journal will host a poetry reading event on November 9th where participants will have the chance to perform their finished poems.
About the Instructor: Dave’s poetry has been accepted by Avocet, Bryant Literary Review, California Quarterly, Common Ground Review, Commonweal, Connecticut River Review, Main Street Rag, The Providence Journal, Rhode Island Public Radio, and Trinity Repertory Theater. Dave is the author of two poetry books, Temperaments, published in 2016, and Primal, published by Main Street Rag in 2022. He is a member of The Academy of American Poets, The New England Poetry Club, and the Ocean State Poets. Dave facilitates poetry workshops in libraries, teaches violin, and serves on the board of the non-profit Notable Works Publication and Distribution Company.
